Tractor Subsidy: State Government Invites Applications for 90% Subsidy on Purchase of Mini Tractors!

For the year 2024–25, the government has announced subsidies for various agricultural machinery and irrigation-related schemes under the Agricultural Mechanization and Agricultural Product Processing Program for farmers. These schemes are launched with the aim of improving agricultural production and providing financial assistance to farmers.

50–90% Subsidy in Agricultural Mechanization: Farmers from the general category are eligible for a 50% subsidy, while farmers from Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes are eligible for a 90% subsidy on the purchase of agricultural machinery. Under this scheme, farmers can avail subsidies for the following equipment:

  • Mini Tractor
  • Power Tiller
  • Weeding Machines
  • Power Sprayer
  • Diesel Pumpset
  • Rotovator
  • Motorized Motokart
  • HDPE Pipes (for Drip Irrigation Systems)

These tools will not only make farming operations easier for farmers but also help to increase production levels.

Krushi Bhagya Scheme: Special Focus on Water Storage Under the Krushi Bhagya Scheme, schemes aimed at assisting farmers with water storage and distribution are available with 80–90% subsidy support.

Key initiatives under this scheme include:

  • Construction of Farm Ponds: Proper facilities for water storage.
  • Construction of Barbed Wire Fences: Ensuring the protection of crops.
  • Solar/Diesel Pumpset (up to 10 HP): Facilitating water lifting using pumps.
  • Micro-Irrigation Units: Ensuring free and efficient water flow to crops.

Eligibility for These Schemes: Farmers must own at least 1 acre of land to qualify. It’s important to note that these schemes are not available to beneficiaries of previous years.

Application Process: Farmers must prepare the following documents to apply:

  • Pahani (RTC – Record of Rights, Tenancy and Crops)
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Bank Passbook Xerox
  • Two Passport Size Photographs
  • Rs.100 Stamp Paper

With these documents, farmers should visit the nearest Hobli-level Farmers Contact Center or the Office of the Assistant Director of Agriculture to submit their application.

How Will the Subsidy Help Farmers? These schemes will stimulate the financial activities of farmers. Installation of sprinkler irrigation systems will ensure efficient use of water resources. Additionally, mechanization will reduce manual labor and help increase productivity.
