A piece of good news for farmers! Yes, under one of the most important schemes of the Central Government – the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Scheme, farmers can now avail loans at a low interest rate. This loan facility is especially offered to farmers engaged in animal husbandry. Below is the complete information about this scheme.

Purpose of the Scheme:
The primary objective of this scheme is to financially empower farmers involved in animal husbandry. The Department of Financial Services, Government of India, in association with nationalized/co-operative banks, offers this loan facility at a concessional interest rate.
Key Details of the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Loan Scheme:
- Under the Kisan Credit Card Loan Scheme, farmers can avail of interest subsidy up to ₹3 lakh.
- Each eligible farmer is provided a loan facility of up to ₹10 lakh.
- A 2% interest subsidy is given on loans taken through KCC.
- If the loan is repaid on time, an additional 3% interest subsidy is offered, making the total subsidy 5% per annum.
Loan Amounts by Sector and Purpose:

1. Dairy Farming:
- For maintaining crossbred cows:
₹18,000 per cow (1+1 model = ₹36,000 for 2 cows) - For improved milch animals (buffaloes):
₹21,000 per buffalo (1+1 model = ₹42,000 for 2 buffaloes)
2. Sheep Farming:
- For maintaining 10+1 sheep for 8 months (stall-fed):
₹29,950 per unit - For open grazing sheep:
₹14,700 per unit - For 20+1 sheep for 8 months (stall-fed):
₹57,200 - For open grazing:
₹28,200 - For fattening 10 sheep:
₹13,120 - For fattening 20 sheep:
₹26,200
3. Goat Farming:
- Maintenance of 10+1 goats for 8 months:
Stall-fed: ₹29,250
Open grazing: ₹14,700 - Maintenance of 20+1 goats for 8 months:
Stall-fed: ₹57,200
Open grazing: ₹28,200
4. Pig Farming:
- For fattening 10 pigs:
Loan facility up to ₹60,000
5. Chicken Farming:
- Meat chicken farming (₹80 per bird):
Up to 1000 chickens – maximum loan of ₹80,000 - Egg-laying chicken farming (₹180 per bird):
Up to 1000 chickens – maximum loan of ₹1,80,000
6. Rabbit Farming:
- Rabbit farming (50+1 model):
Maximum loan facility up to ₹50,000
