What is SSLC?

SSLC stands for Secondary School Leaving Certificate. It is a certification awarded to students on successful completion of their Class 10 examinations.

What Does the SSLC Marks Card Contain?

  • Student Name
  • School Name and Code
  • Register Number
  • Subjects Studied (Languages, Science, Mathematics, Social Science)
  • Marks Obtained (Subject-wise)
  • Grades (CGPA or percentage)
  • Total Marks
  • Result Status (Pass/Fail)
  • Division or Class (Distinction/First/Second Class)
  • Date of Birth
  • Photograph and Signature
  • Seal and Signature of School Headmaster and Board Authority

Purpose of SSLC Marks Card

  • Required for admission to PUC (Class 11 & 12).
  • Used as proof of date of birth in government documents.
  • Needed for job applications, especially in government and low-skill sectors.
  • Used for voter ID, Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport documentation.

When Is It Issued?

Usually 1–2 months after the 10th exam results are declared (May–June).

What is PUC?

PUC refers to Pre-University Course, which is the 2-year study period after SSLC (Class 10), also known as Class 11 (PUC 1) and Class 12 (PUC 2).

What Does the PUC Marks Card Contain?

  • Student Name and Registration Number
  • College Name and Code
  • Subjects Taken (Science/Commerce/Arts)
  • Marks Obtained in Each Subject (Theory + Practical)
  • Internal Assessment Marks
  • Total Marks & Maximum Marks
  • Percentage or CGPA
  • Division or Class
  • Result Status (Pass/Fail)
  • Photograph and Seal of PU Board
  • Signature of Principal and PU Board Official

Purpose of PUC Marks Card

  • Required for admission into colleges/universities.
  • Used in competitive exams like CET, NEET, JEE, etc.
  • Mandatory for applying to scholarships, education loans, etc.
  • Needed for most government and private job applications.

When Is It Issued?

  • PUC 1 (Class 11): June–July (depending on state)
  • PUC 2 (Class 12): April–May

How to Get a Duplicate SSLC/PUC Marks Card (if lost)?

For SSLC (Karnataka):

  1. Visit the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) office or website: https://sslc.karnataka.gov.in
  2. Fill a duplicate marks card application form.
  3. Submit with:
    • Police complaint copy (FIR)
    • Affidavit on a stamp paper
    • Identity proof
    • Passport-size photo
  4. Pay the prescribed fee (around ₹100–₹500).
  5. Receive duplicate marks card within 1–2 weeks.

For PUC:

  1. Contact the Department of Pre-University Education (PUE) in Karnataka: https://pue.karnataka.gov.in
  2. Submit an application for a duplicate copy.
  3. Attach FIR, affidavit, and ID proof.
  4. Pay required fees.
  5. Collect duplicate marks card from the college or PU board office.
