What is Udyog Aadhaar / Udyam Registration?

  • Udyog Aadhaar was a government registration for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India, based on self-declaration using Aadhaar.
  • As of 1st July 2020, Udyog Aadhaar has been replaced by Udyam Registration.
  • The Udyam Registration system is a more simplified and transparent method to register an MSME under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME).

How to Apply for Udyam Registration?

Online Process (Free & Paperless)

  1. Visit: https://udyamregistration.gov.in
  2. Click on “For New Entrepreneurs who are not Registered yet as MSME”
  3. Enter Aadhaar Number and verify via OTP.
  4. Fill in business details (PAN, location, activity, etc.)
  5. Submit the form.
  6. You will receive an Udyam Registration Number and Certificate on email.
